Let's Get Honest!

I have been looking into ways to be more "green" around the house. I look up so many natural cleaners, baby products, beauty products, and even looking for healthier food choices. It's a BIG job and a TON of research! I think switching to non-toxic cleaners and products is a good place to start. I tried making my own cleaners, but somehow I just didn't care much for them. To vinegary, to sticky, to much trial and error! So when I seen the Honest Brand by Jessica Alba I always wanted to try her products. I looked into the ingredients she uses in her products and I must say that I am very impressed! Last month I signed up for both the baby bundle and house bundle. I AM SO GLAD I DID! I am in love with this stuff!! It works, it smells nice, and it's all natural! LOVE IT! It takes all the guess work out for me and it's shipped right to my door every month! Best of all for the household bundle you can switch up your monthly products! I think I will always be keeping the laundry detergent and the dish detergent in my cart though. I go thru so much laundry and do so many dishes I defiantly want to keep that in stock.

So not only have I found the products to work EXTREMELY well, they are also very pretty and smell nice to! Here is a break down of what I have tried and how I like them:

*Baby diapers: They work great, no leaks, but they are kind of "papery". I would compare them somewhere between Huggies and Luvs. I did adore the patterns!!!

 

*Baby Diaper Cream: LOVE IT! Smooth and silky!

*Wet Wipes: These are THICK and very moist! They do an AMAZING job!

*Dish Detergent: LOVE THIS! Dishes are sparkly clean!
*Laundry Detergent: Gets all the stains out and a nice light scent!
*Hand Soap: Well, it's soap! LOL! It works! :)
*Bubble Bath: This stuff suds up! My son loves it! The bubbles last a very long time and have a nice light clean scent.
*Shampoo and the conditioner: Makes my baby's hair smell so clean and fresh! It didn't seem to hurt his eyes at all.
*Lotion: Absorbed quickly and never gave a heavy feeling. Nice light scent.

Final thoughts

 

I love these products, BUT I do find the price of the baby monthly bundle to be a bit pricey. I am a couponer and I am pretty confident I can get Huggies Naturals on sale and add a coupon to it and get a much better deal. Money wise, I would have to skip this bundle. If money were no issue then I'd probably splurge and get it.

 

The rest of the personal and cleaning products are a HUGE hit and I don't mind paying for a monthly delivery for those. I plan to try out each and every product on the list. I also have heard that after your second month you start getting some AMAZING coupons for the products in your email up to 50% off! So when those start rolling in then your defiantly saving money and using safe effective products in your home! AND it's all brought right to your door and as an added bonus the packaging is beautiful! :)

 

Swiffer SweeperVac

Here is another review for all of  you! I have tested out A LOT of floor cleaners here lately. I love a clean floor and with a 2 year old and pets, it's hard to maintain! I'm going to go out on a limb here and say I use to be a Swiffer hater! LOL! I know! I know! I just wasn't impressed with them when they first hit the market. Well, let me tell you! They have changed! For the good!!!! I'm IN LOVE with my Swiffer SweeperVac.

I was using my basic little Bissel Vacuum for YEARS now! I love that thing so it was hard to try and "replace" it. The thing with the Bissel is that the cord is so darn short!! I get on a roll with it and BAM! It pulls itself out of the socket! UGH! Then I have to bend down (I have a bad lower back) and plug and unplug the thing over and over and over. Sometimes twice in the same room! Yes, the cord is that short! So due to that and that alone (I mean otherwise it works great!) I decided to try the Swiffer SweeperVac. Did you know it is cordless and rechargeable!! YES!

I was skeptical at first. Nothing on "charge" alone is going to work on my floors. Cheerio's, crackers, dog food, cat food, ect. It's not going pick that up! YES IT DOES! All that and then some! It buffered up my floors with it's pad and vacuumed so well I could have cried! No cords, no bending, notta! I was like a bird set free to fly! I was able to cruise from one room to the next non-stop and in a record amount of time the floors were all clean!!! I am hooked! If you have hard floors in the majority of your home you have to try this!! SO IN LOVE! :)

Your Dishwasher! How to clean it.

Is your dishwasher not living up to it's full potential? Are you thinking of getting a new one just because it's not cleaning as good as it use to? Well, maybe it's time for a good cleaning! I know, I know... "It's a dishwasher! It practically goes thru a wash cycle everyday! Why would it need cleaning!?"  You would be surprised! I would go thru the steps of cleaning it myself, but I found this great article that can help you much more since it has some really amazing photo's. The pictures will help show you EXACTLY which parts need cleaning. After your done and run that next load of dishes, I bet that your dishes will come out sparkling clean! Mine did!

Laundry Tip: Beat Stinky Odors!

This is by far my favorite laundry tip ever! If you have ever delt with getting tough odors out of your clothes then this is for you! From mildew smells, sweat, pet urine, and more... this WORKS! All it takes is a little bit of this:

VINEGAR!

 

YES, Vinegar!!! I have had my favorite blanket marked by one of my cats and I had tried EVERYTHING to get the smell out and almost threw it out until I found this! Just add some vinegar to the fabric softner dispenser of your washing machine or add it in the last rinse cycle to beat nearly any kind of odor! It will usually only take about 1/3 cup to do the trick. For larger items like my King size blanket, I used 1/2 cup. Your clothes will come out smelling wonderfully fresh!! It will not make your clothes smell like vinegar at all (which I also feared). Just give it a try you will love it! You can even add your favorite fabric softner after and give your items a final rinse. I only do this for bedding since I love the smell of lavender on bedding. So, I hope this tip helps some of you out!!!
